On Sunday September 8, the La Puerta Abierta church in Arequipa gathered to lay the first stone of their new church building.
The church was reminded by scripture that they were build on the cornerstone of Christ and that through Him the members of the church are joined together. Together the church prayer over the first stone and then it was placed in the trench dug for the footings.
This was also a time for remembering the people who had served the church from the beginning, building on the foundation Christ has laid.
The group pictured above cast the first shovelfuls of cement on to the stone.
