Outreach in the Park

Day 8: Friday, November 20, 2015

Sharing Jesus with children is always one of the top goals of our church plant teams. By reaching out to children, we can get whole families involved in the life of the church, and be able to share Jesus with them. So the 40/40s planned an event to focus on kids.

We went to a park that was created in the wide median of a street, which stretched for a long ways. We set up in a playground area where dozens of kids played with their parents. The clown (Renee Morales, cluster coordinator) drew the stares of many as we walked around.

Blasting Christian music through a loudspeaker, we drew attention. Each group was given a different task. Some of us made balloon animals, some painted faces, some took contact information, and others walked around and prayed for everyone.

Kids were excited to come to us, and it gave us a chance to get to know some of their parents. We got their information and invited them to church. A lot of people were interested in who we were and what we were doing. It will be cool to see the fruit of this outreach event.
